SIGG ECO-Logical Bottle

SIGG is committed to not only the environment, but also to the people who live in it. Companies such as SIGG have been around 100 years and have stood the test of time. Their commitment is the secret. SIGG backs their products, they do not use pollutants or toxins, and they make a truly great product.

SIGG water bottle

Anyone can purchase a water bottle, but SIGG bottles have been engineered to withstand the abuse of time. One customer, according to SIGG’s website, has had his bottle 20 years. That is unheard of for an average water bottle.

Throwing away or recycling water bottles is a waste, so why not purchase a 1 liter bottle and just refill it?

SIGG has some interesting facts and questions on their site. They state that you may put booze into the SIGG bottle, but drink it quick because of the temperature.

SIGG does stay cool longer than conventional bottles and it is much lighter too. I’ve dropped it a few times already (whoops) and it’s still keeping its shape.

I can go on and on, but I think you get the point. Try one; you’ll never go back!

    Becky Redman

I Heart the Environment. That’s obvious because I launched Leafygreen.info over a year ago with all good intentions of creating a site for the green-minded individual who wants to go greener.

Becky Redman’s unique messages are cheeky, feisty and a bit bold, but I heart her ideas. Screened on a beige canvas bag, the passive color of white lettering boldly declares Fucking Recycle printed in the classic font Helvetica inside a large block of light pink. That statement right there says it all. The bag is a statement that recycling is no joke and it should not be taken lightly. The bag is strong and sturdy and rather large too. I have brought it shopping to all types of stores. I am hesitant to use it at the grocery store for fear that it will get dirty.

    Becky Redman Fucking Recycle

The bag is quite spacious. I have managed to fit two days worth of clothes for a weekend trip and more. It’s awesome. Lala says that it’s too feminine to walk around with, so she always steals it, but I think she loves it more than me. What do you think of the bag? It’s totally masculine!

Swear words are not always the answer, but it gets the point across when you need to, so Fucking Recycle! It’s the right thing to do.

    Becky Redman Fucking Recycle

Becky hearts the environment too. She even made an awesome poster on recycled paper to prove it. As seen proudly mounted on my living room wall, I’m thrilled that someone made such an appealing poster. Becky’s poster is printed on lightweight recycled paper, but it’s in Metric sizes (A1), so be warned if you want to mount it in a frame.

The small red heart is centered on the page with the words, The Environment, on the bottom of the poster. The bold black Helvetica really exhibits the classic feel to the poster. I love the poster because it looks great, says a message and has the recycled look to it. Becky is based out of the UK, so the poster was shipped overseas and it shows, but I think that adds to the character of the poster itself.

    i heart the environment

If you don’t like either of those statements, I am sure you will be able to find something you will like. Check out Becky’s website which doubles as her online art gallery. It’s truly wonderful and eye-catching. Mr. T likes it too!

    Green World Bags

This is my first post and part two of the all female week, leave some feedback!

The past few weeks I have kept various reusable bags in the trunk of my car for my frequent grocery store and Target trips. However, I never remembered to bring any of them inside with me, until these three were added to my collection. Not only do they fold up easily, the designs are appealing. The Green World Bags have definitely decreased my garbage bag collection—but I am not complaining about increased closet space.

The bags are sustainable and re-useable. They are designed to withstand the weight of 2-3 plastic bags and then fold up for easy storage. The designs are silk-screened nicely and they are pretty too. There is a bonus feature as well, the extra bottom piece that adds to the base of the bag for double support. I see one issue with the bag, however. The silk-screen, after a few heavy uses, is starting to peel off and become flakey.

Green World Bags is a California based company with a simple, yet true slogan. A Simple Way to Make a Difference. Visit them today and get a four pack or twelve.

    Sigg Water Bottle

At work I use a water bottle everyday. It’s just an old bottle I’ve had for quite a while, never considered getting a new one. So Mike approaches me and says he has a water bottle for me to review. I figure I can use it at work a few days, test it out and let everyone out there know what I thought about it.

    Sigg Water Bottle

So I’m using the 0.6L Kids Ninja Battle Sigg Bottle. It works great and the aluminum retains the cold temperature of the water I put in, keeping it colder longer. A lot longer than my old plastic water bottle was doing. The size is good so I only had to refill a couple times during the day. I have never used an aluminum water bottle before and people who had mentioned that they didn’t like them due to the water having a metallic taste. This was not the case with this bottle, the water tasted cool and pure.

I recommend this bottle for anyone who uses a water bottle. It’s not only fully recyclable, but looks nice and does the job.

    A Leafygreen.info lunch review

    Wrap-N-Mat Sandwich

Sometimes, it is hard to review a single product at time and we just have to combine many products. Today’s one of those days. For lunch, I brought a sandwich to work. Sound generic, but in fact, it is not. The sandwich was transported in an eco-friendly, washable wrap called Wrap-N-Mat. Unlike those plastic Tupperware containers, the Wrap-N-Mat is enviro-friendly and ideal for housing a sandwich of normal to slightly larger bread sizes. We’ll get to the sandwich further down below.

The Wrap-N-Mat’s unique design is very versatile. One side is lined with PEVA or PVC. PEVA is more environmentally friendly than PVC, however, either one is food safe. The Kelly Green PEVA Wrap-N-Mat is shaped like an octagon making it very easy to wrap the sandwich. It features a bright logo next to the velcro tab for sealing the mat.

As you can see above, wrapping the sandwich is very easy. No more need for those sandwich bags that get tossed away post-lunch or trying to make more room in your lunch bag because your plastic container’s too large. The Wrap-N-Mat really works well too. I tested it out with the following sandwich and there was no leaking or mess.

The sandwich consisted of a toasted whole wheat roll, a few slices of the Roasted Tofurky, a few slices of soy cheese, a couple of jalapenos and Bone Suckin’ Mustard. The Roasted Tofurky was very similar to other Tofurkey flavors. The jalapenos really went well with the Bone Suckin’ Mustard. The reason is because Ford’s Gourmet Foods Bone Suckin’ Mustard is sweet and hot. Its all natural flavors include brown sugar, molasses, paprika, jalapenos and of course mustard.

The sandwich was great and I used my Wrap-N-Mat as my plate. It’s very easy to wash, just soap and water.

Finally, just because I wanted to, I ate Newman’s Own Organics Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups. They totally made my lunch complete!

Save money and the environment, consider purchasing a Wrap-N-Mat, especially the PEVA lined ones. Check out wrap-n-mat.comWrap-N-Mat SandwichWrap-N-Mat SandwichWrap-N-Mat SandwichWrap-N-Mat SandwichWrap-N-Mat Sandwich

    Reusable Bags Review

    plastic bags blow

I am not a fan of plastic bags. They are a waste, bad for the environment and just silly. Nothing makes me more annoyed than going to the store for one tiny little pack of gum and the cashier asks if I need a bag or automatically puts the gum into the bag. They also practice this at my local Blockbuster for your DVDs and at the thrift Stores. I’ve been bringing small cloth bags to the grocery store for a few years now and I’ve
noticed the increase in smart shoppers who use reusable bags.

    reusable bags

ReuseableBags.com makes your life easy when shopping with the perfect reusable bag. First, you can get active and use the dual handled hemp fiber tote with the activist slogan “Plastic Bags Blow.” It uses water based black ink on a natural color bag. This tough, strong bag is great for promoting your hatred for plastic. It’s great for small items, a trip to the mall, or a quick run to the grocery.

    reusable bags

I used to be embarrassed bringing my own bags to the mall or other shopping plazas, but that was silly. Earth Tote is my favorite bag; it’s HUGE and made from PET. It’s roomy enough for approximately 6 quarts of soy milk, 15 packages of veggie burgers or even better 100 packages of tofurky dogs.

    plastic bags blow reusable bags

There’s an outside pocket for magazines, coupons or whatever else you desire. The tan yellow color is nice and earthy also.

There’s another PET bag that I like as well. It’s basically the same size as the activist bag, but made from PET. It’s black and has dual handles also. Easily cleaned with soap and water and you are set.

The most versitle bag is the Workhorse Style 1500. This bag is a 19”x16”x6” bag when it’s opened, but conveniently folds away into it’s built in pouch for easy storage. It’s perfect to leave in the car, your purse, jacket pocket or at work. It’s made from rip-stop nylon and is virtually tear-proof.

The bags are great, but reusablebags.com also offers PET water bottles, lunch boxes, veggie and fruit bags, mesh bags, insulators, and more.

Reusablebags.com is committed to helping to create a green world. Consider buying your bags from here rather than the trendy one at Whole Foods, they have very competitive prices and a fun website with lots of good information.
