Truly Wize Kisses and Hugs Cookie Gift Box

I love cookies, I love Valentine’s Day and I would love chocolate-dipped cookies on Valentine’s Day, so I was eager to try the Kisses and Hugs Cookie Gift Box from Truly Wize.  They arrived in a lovely box with a pretty pink ribbon.  Unfortunately, that was the best part of the entire package and it only went downhill from there.  First, if I were paying the $35 price tag on this gift, I’d want the cookies to arrive as fresh as possible.  The shipping alone was 2-3 days, but I was still hopeful when I unwrapped the cute little box.  I opened the box to find what I would call the remains of cookies.  It was mostly broken pieces with only a few whole and intact cookies that actually resembled the kisses(x’s) and hugs(o’s) that were promised.  I can pretty confidently say that this didn’t happen in shipping since they were double boxed and there was no sign of it being crushed.

I would hardly call these decadent or dipped in dark chocolate – as their website states.  It appeared they were maybe drizzled with chocolate and the filling wasn’t at all creamy, but rather dry, much like the cookies themselves.  I was very disappointed and felt they also lacked any kind of delicious flavor that one might hope for in a special gift of cookies on as special an occasion as Valentine’s Day.  I would highly recommend that the company focus more on what’s in the pretty box, rather than the fancy ribbon on the outside.
