The fusion of Organic Yerba Mate and Cerveza results in a very drinkable pale ale called Mateveza. The naturally caffeinated pale ale is a unique style in the craft beer market. First off, this beer is caffeinated because Yerba Mate provides natural energy from the plant. I’m not sure of the actual brewing process but the beer tastes slightly like Mate but definitely resembles a straight-forward pale ale.

Mate is normally woodsy and heavy unlike most teas. The mellow hops and citrus flavor counter balance the ale nicely.
Mateveza is a very drinkable Pale Ale so if you’re on the west coast, go ahead and buy some of it in the local stores, if you anywhere else, check out the site for information and a locator.

The Organic Food Guide is a short book by the Sproutman, also known as Steve Meyerowitz. Meyerowitz simply writes about the technical and legal aspects of being organic. He also discusses green practices such as all natural, biodynamic and free-range. He gives suggestions about being more locally and globally green. All the green buzzwords that are being tossed around are mentioned in this small book. This book is important for you newbies or old green veterans to read.

The book is under 100 pages, but filled with a decent amount of information. If you want to learn something new, this little book will help you learn.
It’s not expensive either, so pick it up online or if you see it in your neighborhoods.

I love my t-shirt collection and this one is high on the list of good shirts. It’s an organic cotton shirt with the recycling logo screened onto it, but with attention paid to the details of the logo. Inside the classic recycle logo contains many mini recycle logos. The green ink on black, Made In the USA, organic cotton is soft and fits like a medium should fit.

If you buy this shirt from Brand of the Free, you are going to look really awesome around your neighborhood. I truly love this shirt and I am proud to wear it. Best part of the shirt is the tagless low impact screen-printing! Can’t mess with that or the sweatshop free, fair labor/wages and all the other green practices that Brand Of The Free uses!

I love my yerba mate and I decided to experiment with the Java Mate from Guayaki. I decided to use my hot tea infuser instead of the traditional gourd.

I added the same amount of yerba mate and water that I would have for a few gourds full and let the mate infuse with the boiling water. The nutty vanilla aroma was pleasantly noticeable. After each infusion of mate and water, I added the hot water into a pitcher and set it aside. 128 ounces of hot vanilla nut yerba mate sat patiently until it was ready to be refrigerated. After the hot mate semi cooled down, I placed it into the fridge and sampled it the next morning.
Perfectly blended cold yerba mate hit the spot and provided the much needed organic energy that my body craved. I do like my Guayaki Yerba Mate better hot, but cold is great as well!

Making salads is an art and I think I made a Mondrian with my creation. Mixed baby romaine and other greens with crumbled Gorgonzola cheese, grape tomatoes, Equal Exchange Cranberries and Pecans and some Italian seasoning. No dressing is even required!

The pecans are salted minimally and the cranberries are sweet and juicy for dried cranberries. The creamy Gorgonzola and the crunchy, organic pecans are just so wonderful together that I ate this salad 5 days in a row. I only like cranberries when they are dried, and these are great.

I have not been disappointed with Equal Exchange’s fair trade product thus far.

Vegan, fair-trade and organic chocolate-coated sandwich cookies pretty much summarizes what Leafygreen.info is all about. People out there can produce amazingly awesome cookies with green ingredients and practices. Yes, these cookies are more expensive then the traditional Oh cookies but they are 100% worth it.

Dark chocolate that just melts in your mouth reveals a vegan stuff crème inside surrounded by more chocolate (as in the cookie). Such a treat! Maybe you should purchase some, send them as gifts, eat them yourself or just glance at their beauty.
The attention to detail and green is what separates Liz Lovely from other companies. Their packaging is green either by design or by reusability.
Can’t wait to have more!
Organic Fuel for the mind, body and soul is Steaz‘ tag line and I feel it’s totally appropriate. The lightly carbonated beverages are filled with green tea, yerba mate, acai and guarana, gives me the energy that I need on those slow days or before a long bike ride. Partnering up with Guayaki and Sambazon for instance provides fair trade and organic ingredients in this energyrific can.

Not only does the can provide 80mg of natural caffeine, but it also tastes great too. Check out Steaz all over the place like Wegmans, Whole Foods and your local health food stores too.
Try the plain and if you feel adventurous, the lime and orange are wonderful as well.
Equal Exchange offers a lot of fair trade products such as coffee, tea and chocolate. I recently sampled the Organic Milk Chocolate with Hazelnuts and the Organic Dark Chocolate with Almonds.

Both chocolate bars are wonderful. The smooth chocolate blends really well with the other flavors. The hazelnut bar is not overly full of hazelnut. It is actually just a hint of hazelnut for a super chocolately flavor. The almonds are abundant and tasty, that’s for sure. The crunchy, gluten-free chocolate bar is a keeper!
Equal Exchange redesigned their website’s store and made it more web friendly, so go check it out.

Fair Trade is Equal Exchange’s primary mission along with offering high quality foods and beverages. Equal Exchange products range from teas and coffees to nuts and chocolate.

The loose, organic Ceylon Green Tea is a perfect example of fair trade tea. Picked in Sri Lanka, the green tea is sweet and fruity. I tried the tea both hot and cold and I actually prefer making it cold. Here’s my trick, if you are interested. Add a tablet or two of sweetener such as Stevia or agave to freshly brewed hot tea and cover with cold filtered water and shake it up a while. Let the sugars mix in and wait a day. Enjoy the iced tea and your all set. I use maybe three tablespoons of tea for 64 ounces of water.
Sweet, antioxidant-rich green tea with a hint of sweetness is just what the doctor ordered.
Be on the lookout for more Equal Exchange reviews. As an update, since I wrote this review, Equal Exchange is discontinuing their loose tea line and replacing it with eco-tea bags.
