Teko Light Hiking Sock Review

Great Scott! I mean Socks?

Teko Socks

Both Mike and I enjoy the outdoors immensely. With a reservation loaded with hiking trails nearby and an annual camping trip, we own plenty of gear to use in these situations.

As far as hiking socks go, I own a few pairs. At the moment they are pretty old and standard warm hiking socks. So I get my hands on these Light Hiking Teko Socks, probably the most hi-tech socks I?ve ever had a chance to wear, and I?m instantly excited. The feel of them is amazing; the EcoMerino? Wool is remarkably soft to the touch, even softer on the foot. Loaded with vents to keep your foot cool, sewn in a way to keep you comfortable, because they are shaped just like your foot.

My tests for these socks would be one full day of work and a hike around the neighborhood. In a day, I walk 30 city blocks in Manhattan and probably close to two miles around the office. First thing, these are the most comfortable socks that have ever been on my feet. My feet tend to get hot on my walk to work and during the workday, with these socks it was not the case. I wondered how this could be since the socks were wool, interesting. Next thing, the socks never bunched up on any part of my foot, and when I took them off that evening no lines or wrinkles in my skin. They never felt tight yet never felt like they were falling off. So upon arriving home I threw on my hiking boots for the full test. Braving the cold I took to the hills of my neighborhood. The socks kept me warm, felt great in my boots, did more than I could ask for.

As a company, Teko has taken every step to be as environmentally conscious as I have seen a company try to be. They?ve taken these steps in each part of their processes to get you these socks. The Teko website takes you through their sustainability strategies explaining more than you could hope to know. The website is definitely worth reading if you?re interested.

I am now sad that I only have one pair, since I officially have been spoiled and hate all the other hiking socks I have. Its been a wonderful experience, but unfortunate for the old socks. I?ll be looking to get a few more pairs of these before the hiking/camping season officially kicks off.
