Geodeo Natural Deodorant Plus

I may be a bit behind on the natural deodorant bandwagon, since I’ve only began using them this year, however the deodorants from Geodeo help to make using them easier. Made from volcanic minerals, Icelandic algae, bamboo, aloe and vitamin E with enzymes. These 97% natural ingredients help to keep your underarms free of aluminums, sulfates, parabens, petrochemicals, dyes and other chemicals that maybe harmful. Finding out that my previous mainstream deodorant had aluminum in it made me wary since I associate metals like that as something that shouldn’t be put on your body or ingested. So I thought trying something natural might yield a difference for my skin, hopefully helping it to be smoother. Since antiperspirant essentially clogs pores to keep you from sweating I figured that to have some smooth skin, I wouldn’t want to plug my pores.

Geodeo is the second natural deodorant that I’ve used since wanting to make a change; Tom’s of Maine Long Lasting Deodorant Stick was the first. So I seem to know what to expect in terms of a result for natural deodorants. Usually no reduced sweat but should mask the scent. I think that’s a pretty tall order for a deodorant, let alone a natural deodorant. Just as I suggested for the Tom’s of Maine deodorant, this isn’t great for warm situations as you will still sweat and from experience also become pretty stinky. I was bummed that this occurred, as Geodeo has 2 fantastic scents and 1 unscented version. The unscented version is unisex is for sensitive skin without a whiff of fragrance. Ocean and island scents smell fantastically clean, but without any overpowering chemical scent. I completely enjoyed the scents of both these, however they didn’t seem to be as fragrant once applied to my skin.

I like these products for their eco-friendly value and lack of chemicals, but not as impressed with their performance. Though my underarms seem to be smoother, I wouldn’t recommend these for high stress situations as you may find yourself stinkier than you expected.
