When Eddie says it’s hot, he means it. Jerk sauce is known for the its robust blend of traditional spices from Jamaica. Grandpa Eddie’s Jerk Sauce is complex, flavorful and extremely hot. Crafted from the ground up, Grandpa Eddie started selling his amazing jerk sauce after giving it away for years. I am glad he did, because the world needs to try this spicy treasure.
The ingredients are simple: scotch bonnet peppers, pimentos, nutmeg, thyme, ginger, cinnamon, garlic, onion, cane sugar, scallions, black pepper, vinegar, and more, but the way it’s blended sets it apart from other jerk sauces I have had.
I marinated a block of tofu with about 5 tablespoons of jerk sauce and let it sit over night in preparation for my parent’s grill. Tofu has the tendency, as you may know, to absorb the flavors of whatever is being cooked and take on that flavor. Grilling the tofu locked in the flavors and allowed the tofu to crisp up on the outside while the inside was moist and juicy. Grilling tofu is my favorite way to prepare tofu. There is no extra oil involved, but just make sure it does not stick to the grill.
The jerk sauce seemed to permeate the tofu in such a manner that it did not make the tofu unbearably hot to eat, but rather made the heat kick in subtly and then all of a sudden, there is a blast of those scotch bonnet peppers.

Making jerk sauce is an art and Grandpa Eddie is an artist. Check out his site, grandpaeddiesauce.com and purchase some jerk sauce, BBQ sauce and more. You can also find him locally around New Jersey at food, wine and other festivals and shows. Eddie is a nice guy, go say hello and tell him Mike from Leafygreen.info sent you.

I came across Grandpa Eddie and his stand of sauces at the Cranberry festival in Chatsworth, N.J. After trying a sample of the jerk sauce and talking a little to Ed himself I decided to grab up a bottle of his wonderful creation. That was four years ago. Ever year since I make my pigrimage to the Cranberry Festival just to find Ed by his stand and make my yearly purchase of his sauces. I am a food lover and his Jerk Sauce in particular makes food of all kinds taste better. It's that simple. I put it on everything. If you like your food to just explode with flavor with just the right amount of spicy heat, Grandpa Eddie's sauces are just what you might be looking for.

I met Grandpa Eddie at his booth at a beer festival in the Poconos. After talking with him for a few minutes, I decided to purchase some of his jamaican sauce, and still believe it to be the best on the market. It is no exaggeration to say Grandpa Eddies sauce is fantasic on everything. I have tried it on steak, turkey, pork, chiken and salmon, with incredible results, and amazing flavor. I am very glad to have found his website today so i can order more for my kitchen!
I have been buying Grandpa Eddie's Jamaican Jerk sauce for many years now and have to say, it is the absolute best. All you need is alittle bit for a huge taste. It is great on steak, lamb chops and best on tuna steaks. It even gives grilled vegetables a unique and wonderful flavor
If you like a zesty, flavorful grilling sauce, buy a bottle. Second thought, buy two. You don't want to run out!
My name is Rebecker, I have been a regular customer for 3 years
and a very happy customer too. We started with Grandpa Eddie Gourmet
Jerk Sauce which is our absolute favorite until I sampled the Gourmet
BBQ Hot sauce. Now we have 2 favorites,…WOW!!
Grandpa Eddie sold me on the concept that the BBQ Hot Sauce meanders
when allowed to sit in my mouth for just a second and the magic
begins. It's sweet and then it's warm and hot as it's swallowed. I
moaned in ecstacy while repeating YYYYYYEEEEEEEESSSS!!, YYYYEEESS!!,
YYEEES! this is ssooooo ggoooodd. It's like kissing it's all over my
mouth!!! Grandpa Eddie I'm proud to say that you have a customer for life. God Bless all your efforts.

Had the pleasure of meeting Grandpa Eddie at the Split Rock beer festival and then again at the Wine Fest. We bought the sauce to make shredded chicken BBQ for a large party. We used one full jar with the meat of 8 chickens. It was a hit. Many people at the party asked for the recipe and want to purchase the sauce! It was awesome. Thanks!
I absolutely love your jamaican jerk sauce. It is the best I've ever tried.
I got a chance to sample your sauce at The Atlantic City Seafood Festival,
I've been hooked ever since. I used the sauce on my chicken and my family
loved it. I also have to say your personal customer service is the best..
Thank you for shipping the sauce overnight so I could have it in time for
the cookout. I look forward to talking to you again when I place my next
order.

Dear Grandpa Eddie,
Thank you so much for your Jamaican Jerk Sauce. I really look forward to
grilling chicken and shrimp using your sauce. Just smelling it makes my
mouth water. I have been finding other ways to use it too. It works to put
a bit with green beans to make them tasty. For a quick treat, I put a bit
in a tortilla shell with some cheese and microwave it. Yummy. I look
forward to seeing you at the different wine tasting festivals and am a 4
time repeat customer so far. If you want to use any of my comments, feel
free. Thanks again for your tasty product and keep up the great job.
Take care,

We brought Grandpa Eddie's Jamaican Jerk Sauce over the weekend at a festival in Keyport, NJ. We tried it on chicken that night and it was outstanding! Every bite was even better then the one before! We can't wait for another dinner with Grandpa Eddie!
Thanks,
Kristen
Dear Mr. Eddie,
I would like to start by expressing my most sincere
compliments on the creation of your delicious sauces. My parents
purchased me a bottle when they met you at a beer festival in
Pennsylvania, and I have been a huge fan ever since.

I received the order today, thank you. I gave a bottle of the Jamaican jerk sauce to split between two of my friends which are culinary chefs. Both thought the sauce was out of this world and wanted the information to get some of the sauce for their restaurants. I’ve gone to Jamaica every year for 8 years now and none of the native holds a candle to your sauce. Keep up the good work.

I just had to let you know, your sauce is the best! I love Jerk chicken and
I’ve had it in Jamaica but yours is even better! Your sauce has the perfect
blend of sweet and hot. My family absolutely loves it! Every time I visit a
festival or craft show, I have to see you to get another bottle. When
winter rolls around I’ll be online to order more! Thanks again for making a
wonderful product that really stands up to the awards!

Just a few weeks ago, my wife and I met Eddie at the Pennsylvania wine festival. Eddie is very serious about his sauce, but is a very nice and personable person too. His wife is just as pleasant.
We have already used the sauce a couple times. Both times we used it on pork chops. The flavor was fantastic. We allowed the chops to marinate overnight as suggested. We grilled them the first time and pan fried them the second. Both were tender and well flavored. Not too hot, but wonderfully enhanced with the sauce. My teenage daughter came downstairs to smell the amazing aroma of what was cooking.
Hats off and highly recommended!
Cheers-
Chris and Laura
Dear Eddie,
I met you and your lovely friend at the Atlantic City Seafood Festival a few years ago and continued to buy from you yearly.I love going to festivals and have a specific schedule of events I attend every year. Since my first encounter with your products I have changed my schedule to include attending festivals where you are. My friends are astounded when I serve your sauces every time I bbq, which is all year round.I know several store owners and neighbors who bug me for my recipe and want to purchase the sauce from me.I just smile and say its my Granpa's recipe and I'm not allowed to sell it to them.I have monthly meetings in my home for fund raising events for inner city youth.I know if it wasn't for your sauce half the people would not show up,they rave about the sauce and make bigger donations. Thank You for your culinary skill!
I received your Jerk Sauce last week and tried it for the first time.
I was truly impressed! My Jerk Session included Pimento chips,
Pimento leaves and a Weber bullet smoker. I made my own jerk sauce
from Jamaican nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice berries, etc. In other words,
I attempted to make my jerk the best I knew how to make it. In
addition to my own rub, I also used Pickapeppa and Walkerswood sauces
to compare. We smoked chicken and pork. The winner of our cook-off was
Grandpa Eddie – and not even close!
I suppose I could work on my own sauce a bit and make it as goo as
yours but why bother? As for the other commercial sauces – it wasn’t
even a fair comparison. Your sauce was the only one that used followed
the traditional recipe and the individual layers of flavor from the
cinnamon, allspice, etc. shown through. It was incredible! My hat is
off to you for producing such a fine product. In the future I think
I’ll skip my efforts and stick with Grandpa Eddie’s – why mess with a
winner!
Don’t change a thing! THANKS!

We ran into Eddie at a wine festival last year where we sampled his amazing sauces. We were hooked! We experiment and have tried with just about everything.
We put a just a dab of jerk sauce in white rice which gives the rice complex flavors and aromas. Scrambled eggs just aren't the same without a splash of jerk sauce. we also like to marinate thin-cut pork chops in the Jamaican BBQ before grilling.
Keep up the great work Eddie!
Hi Grandpa,
My mother-in-law, Carol Gleason, met you in Freehold while she was
selling her pottery at a show. She purchased a jar of Jerk sauce as well
as BBQ sauce for me as I am a great fan of “hot”. She warned me,
though, that I was to cut one of the sauces as you told her it was a bit
on the spicy side. I figured it was the jerk but used it straight anyway.
Woof, it was hot. Very very enjoyable!
A few nights later, I took out the BBQ sauce and cooked it on some
chicken in the house (not outside on the grill). The fumes from my
cooking had both my children (who were on the other side of the house)
coughing! We had to turn on the fans to clear the air.
The experience was reminicent of my father cooking hot italian peppers in
the fry pan. My brothers and I couldn’t walk into the kitchen without
nearly choking!!!
Great job, keep up the terrific cooking, we really really loved it!
Warm regards,
Leslie Gleason
Hi Leafygreen,
Thanks for providing this link for satisfied customers of Grandpa
Eddie Sauce to post my testimonial as shown above.
Your concept is so cool. You provide a forum for people such as
myself to express my appreciation in ways that I would not have been
able to if I was speaking directly to Grandpa Eddie.
Very smooth flowing website and excellent reviews and presentations.
Thank you.

A few years ago, at the annual street fair in Hoboken, I discovered the best
Jamaican Jerk Sauce I’ve ever had. A very dignified ex-Jamaican gentleman
was selling this sauce in a tent not far from where Lee Ross was showing his
aerial photography. I sampled and then bought a jar of Grandpa Eddie’s
Jamaican Jerk Sauce, and found it to be a great “secret ingredient” in all
sort of things besides jerked chicken and pork, for which of course it is
fantastic. I use a teaspoon in beef stew, a scant dash in scrambled eggs,
and a half teaspoon in salmon soufflé. It gives a subtle hint of something
that you just can’t quite place, but tastes very good. After buying that
jar, I contacted Eddie and bought several more for myself and friends. This
afternoon, Eddie dropped by and presented me with a jar of a special batch
he had made just for me, with several times the normal dose of Scotch Bonnet
peppers. I plan on not sampling this until I have paramedics handy — the
normal sauce is definitely not for the faint of heart, so this special stuff
might very well be life-threatening. OTOH, I thought that I should spread
the word among my aviation and metalworking friends that even the normal
sauce is well worth a trial.
Eddie also mentioned that he now has a website, and that he sells his
products on it. That’s at http://grandpaeddiesauce.com/. I suspect that
many of you reprobates (particularly the RAHnians) will appreciate something
like this. I much prefer the Jerk Sauce. The barbeque sauce is also very
good, but the Jerk Sauce is in a whole other dimension.
I have no interest in Eddie’s company other than as a very satisfied
customer. I only know Eddie through my few interactions with him, but he’s
a very nice and gentle man, and I believe that his sauce deserves a much
wider fan base. Enjoy.

Thank you Granpa Eddie for making your great sauces! My husband & I had the pleasure of meeting you at the Allaire State Park Wine Festival in Sept 2008. We chatted with you a while and decided to purchase your BBQ Hot Sauce. We both love spicey hot foods so we were excited to try it. We have made a few dishes with this sauce and were disappointed we had only bought one bottle. I remembered you said you had a website and we bought a few bottles just so we don’t run out again. Great taste with a spash of heat!! We are definitely fans of yours and will continue to purchase your sauces. See you soon at one of the local shows.
I appreciate all your comments guys, but you may want to contact the company.
We love Grampa Eddie and his wife and his great sauces. Just ordered some for Christmas gifts.
I love jamaican sauce
. This sauce is very spicy and delicious, thanks for sharing this recipe.
