Dizm Biodegradable Sunglasses

Like most products, we hope that they last the entire life of using them. But when we are done with these products what usually happens to them? Most likely, depending on what they are made from they end up in the landfill and that’s not good for the earth. Dizm Eyewear has a great idea to combat that problem.

They have created 100% biodegradable, renewable, recyclable and compostable handmade cellulose acetate eyewear frames. With the right environmental conditions the frames will decompose into water, carbon dioxide and soil. To me this is a great idea for a product, which I don’t think many people consider once they’ve use the product up.

Though these sunglasses are not your cheap retail store brand, coming in at around just under $100 they are certainly a bit more cost efficient than other brand name sunglasses such as Oakley and Ray-Ban, plus with the added eco-benefit as well. For those who need a little help in the lens department these frames are prescription compatible too! The lens that it does come with offers 100% UV protection too. All sunglasses come in minimal, recyclable 70% post-consumer recycled packaging. Which happens to be this super cool triangular box. In that box the sunglasses come in a 100% renewable cotton storage/cleaning bag. Though it is just a bag and would not protect them like a true hard case would, I think it is great that they included them in something to help protect from scratches in case you don’t have a hard case.

I was able to try two different style of sunglasses from Dizm Eyewear; the Eco Herbie in Black/Gray Smoke Lens and the Eco Rogo in Brown/Beige Brown Lens. Though the Eco Herbie is classified as Men’s styling with “masculine lines that never go out of style.” I found them to be a great change from my usual “wrap around” sport style sunglasses. They certainly never looked too manly on my face and felt they gave a great style to even the simplest of outfits I had been wearing. The Eco Herbie in Black are my favorite!

Though that is not to say that I don’t enjoy the quality of the Eco Rogo glasses. The shape of the lens is a bit more round than the Eco Herbie and are a bit more oversized for my face than I would prefer. Style wise they aren’t completely my style but I still enjoyed the same great quality as the Eco Herbie. With 6 different style glasses and color options within each style there is sure to be a set of glasses that you will enjoy as much as I enjoyed.
