It’s not even Christmas and I got coal. Well, sort of. The shirt is made of olive green/brown organic cotton with a black silk-screened coal plant across the chest. The design is simple and not offensive. The Coal Plant shirt not only fits both width and length like a medium but it is an attention grabber. People will wonder what it means and that’s what I want.

Artifex gives back too. The Artifex brothers donate a portion of their profits to environmental causes. They also give $3 from each of their popular Windmill shirt to North Dakota based Native Energy.
I really like the shirt and I am proud to be part of the Artifex club. Stay tuned for more Artifex shirts in the future!

A few weeks ago it was really beautiful outside. The trees were green, the pollen count was high and the sun was shining brightly and I decided to go for a bike ride. I threw on my bike riding shorts, grabbed my Timbuk2 Metro bag filled with the essentials and decided to test out the Truly Organic Apparel shirt.
This t-shirt is unique because it is not only made from organic cotton but it uses natural dyes to color the shirt which means no chemicals are used in the process of making the fair trade clothing.

Each one of the Herbal T’s is hand dyed resulting in a unique color and texture. The style is not really something I would wear out normally, but for biking it was perfect. The shirt resisted my sweat and did absorb some moisture, but it wasn’t too clingy when I took the shirt off. It fits like a medium length wise, but is a little too wide for me (compared to American Apparel sizing).
The olive green color is actually more of a brown olive mixture, but it’s not bad. It totally clashes with my Nau shorts, but I’m not trying to impress anyone.
Truly Organic offers both lines for men and women besides t-shirts. They have work clothes and play clothes so check them out. Please just follow the instructions when you wash the clothes, it’s VERY important!
When I say this is the softest tee shirt I have ever worn, I am for real. The Statues: Don’t Just Stand There (women’s long sleeve tee with text) is 70% Bamboo and 30% Organic Cotton. I have one in the color storm, which is a lovely shade of light purple, and I have it in a large to fit over my preggo belly.

When I first glanced at Tarma’s website I was pleased with what I saw. The designs seem very earthly and simplistic, just my style! Tarma designs are all very unique and spiritual. Their products are made from environmentally friendly materials like recycled 316 stainless steel, nylon webbing and recycled polyester.
I received three different men’s adjustable wristbands and one bottle opener. I collect unique bottle openers so one made completely of recycled 316 stainless steel brought a smile to my face. The Double Diamond Bottle Opener is compact, roughly 3 inches long. For travel, it easily fit into my pocket and upon return I place it back into the drawer. The design is easy on the eyes and quick on the draw. Oh, and it opens Sam Adams like no other.

All three of the wristbands are unique. Each design and clasp is made of the same 316 stainless steel featuring two colored nylon webbing for the band. The band has a series of sewn slots which is used for sizing your wrist. The main problem is that I could not get the clasp on myself. Yes, it is a very elegant and earthy design, but I could not physically put the bracelet on by my lonesome. I thought I was possibly doing something incorrectly so I gave the wristbands to different people and no one could get the wristband on either. It’s definitely a huge oversight on Tarma’s part.
My favorite design is the mountain biker. Once I can figure a way to safely put on the wristband, I will wear it on a daily basis.

I make a lot of my own beaded jewelry. One, because is cheaper than buying a marked up version in a department store, and, two, because it is relaxing and fun. I never thought about the amount of plastic I was using or the effect it was having on the environment. If you visit everybodygreen.com you will find very cute cornstarch resin bracelets, as well as a link that explains the effects of plastics on the environment.

I have the pink Go Green Berries Trio. Not only are these bracelets fashionable, the founder of this site, C.H. Lee, has a goal of selling 1 million bracelets by the end of the year. He then plans of donating 10% of each sale to a number of environmentally friendly non-profit organizations. The mission of the site, and of the products, is We’re ALL in this together Spend the small amount these bracelets cost, and you will be buying into a cleaner world.

Green organic cotton t-shirt with the standout font that says SOS. The O is the Earth that sets this shirt apart with its juxtaposition. The medium shirt fits more like a medium in terms of width, but its length is a little short compared to American Apparel. The screening is dark and keeps its texture after washing.

If you are looking to plug what you believe in, this shirt is straightforward enough to do so.
Ban T-Shirts has a few newer shirts out now with more gutsy messages, but this simple message gets the point across.
I got a few looks wearing the shirt and that is what I wanted. Great Success!

Bamboo you say, without Pandas attacking me in masses mistaking me for food! This is true, shirts made of bamboo with amazing qualities.
I have 100% Bamboo Fine Jersey Long Sleeve and Short Sleeve shirts. First thing I noticed was how unbelievably soft the shirts are. It is really just short of silk or the finest thread count linens. I usually wear a white cotton tee under every shirt I wear, even other t-shirts. That is sure to change now that I’ve tried these. The shirts are extremely comfortable, they look nice, and surprisingly they wash extremely well. No pills or shrinkage. They came out of the wash the way they went in.

My favorite part of the shirts has to be the natural anti-microbial properties of the fabric. This allows you to wear the shirts for extended periods of time without having to worry about odor. The shirts also help regulate body heat by being naturally cooling in heat and warm in the cold.
I have actually learned a ton about bamboo as a resource from trying out these shirts. It’s actually quite astonishing, check out Bamboosa’s site for more info regarding this; it’s kind of mind boggling the sort of facts they have. Needless to say, the shirts are great and I’ll definitely be picking up some more.

Straight from a Brazilian cargo truck, this hat is the real deal! It’s made from reclaimed fabric from tarps on trucks. No two hats are the same and you may be lucky enough to get one with Portuguese writing or printing on it! You can design your own by choosing from simple options.

In terms of the fit, I do not have a big head and the medium hat fit me snugly, but tight enough that the fierce wind did not blow it away walking out of the Atlantic City Beer Fest. The hat did get some attention and questions from random strangers. After explaining what Real Deal Brazil was about, they were even more impressed.

I have never worn a cowboy-styled hat before however I have always wanted to. I am glad that I did. It’s really cool and supports free trade and the new trend of using reclaimed materials to create new products.
My girlfriend thought it was cute and we took such a cute picture with me rocking it. What do you think? Better than my old Hot Water Music hat? There’s also some pictures of Ed wearing the hat The Nets game the other day.
