LifeTree Botanicals Smooth Peppermint Natural Soap

I have always loved the scent of mint. It’s probably because when I was a little girl, my mother used to plant mint in the backyard. After I was done running around playing, I always used to break off a spring and smell it. So naturally when I was asked to review LifeTree Botanicals Smooth Peppermint Natural Soap, I was more than happy to do so.

I have been washing my hands with this soap all week, and my skin has been soft and smooth, never dry. The soap smells faintly of a stick of peppermint gum, but it is not pungent or overpowering. Also, I can pronounce all the natural ingredients, which are simply: water; olive, palm and coconut oils; dried mint leaves; and peppermint essential oil. There are no strange or harsh chemicals, and all the soaps are free of animal products.

If you visit lifetree-botanicals.com, you will find a company, run by Elizabeth Cappuccio, whose tagline is: Handmade soap is one of the worlds most natural luxuries. You will also notice a variety of other scents you can purchase individually or in a gift basket. These small soaps are also commonly used at favors at weddings and showers, which is a really cute idea.

These lovely little squares of clean will make you happy. I’d love to try more, especially the lavender oats soap! I highly recommend them.

    Tom’s of Maine Fennel Toothpaste

Sound like an odd flavor for toothpaste? It’s actually pretty good. The licorice-like flavor of fennel does not overpower the toothpaste and leaves your breath nice and sweet. There are no harsh chemicals in this all-natural anti-plaque, tarter control and whitening toothpaste.

Want to change the boring routine of brushing your teeth? Give Tom’s Fennel a try. It’s not only healthier, but it’s more fun too.

Bad news though, Tom’s is now part of the Colgate family. They are no longer animal-friendly; I just hope Tom can change that and continue down the cruelty-free path. In the meantime, I won’t be using Tom’s products unless I know they are keeping their line cruelty free.

    UDPATE

Tom’s is still on the OK list accoring to PETA. This comes directly from Tom’s of Maine. Good news!

It’s all Good by Noah’s Naturals

This is the first review of the all female week. Enjoy!

One of my favorite memories is of my honeymoon in the Bahamas almost 3 years ago. I love any scents that remind me of that week, and that is what the products from Organics by Noah’s Naturals do. In addition, they promise to only use “nutritionally fortified formulas,” and “natural, precious ingredients.”

The Coconut Vanilla Body Wash is fun and summery. The two scents mingle well together and are not at all overpowering. The body wash lathers up with lots of bubbles and makes for a happy shower.

The Peppermint Lip Balm is also great. I have been a Cherry Chapstick gal for years, but I think I may be making a switch to this! It did not dry out my lips as other products have, and the peppermint is not intense or burning.

But overall, my favorite from Noah’s Naturals is the Rosemary Mint Shampoo. I have really curly hair, and I am always in search of a shampoo that will not weigh my hair down or make it frizzy. I have probably tried everything in the drugstore, but I never tried organic. I am hooked! In just a week, I have been getting more compliments on my hair than I have before. Just a small amount does the job, and the rosemary and mint scents wake me up in the morning. I am a huge fan of this product and would love to try the conditioner.

All in all, Noah’s Naturals puts out great products.

    Nature Girl Products

There is nothing I like better than beauty products that actually do what they promise, and that is exactly what Nature Girl products do. Even better, Nature Girl donates a large percent of their profits to environmental causes.

I first made my husband rub my feet with the Flower Power Botanical Body Lotion. The lotion was light and airy, and the scents of organic flower oils and herbal extracts were not overpowering at all. It is a perfect everyday lotion. Lovely.

Next, I scrubbed up with the I Love Organic - Organic Sugar Scrub. I have tried many scrubs before, but I have to say that this one, with huge sugar crystals and a hint of lemon peel, made my winter thighs summer soft. Even after a week, my thighs are still smooth! Believe it.

Lastly, after my shower, I slathered on Nature Love Shea Butter Body Balm. Not only does this body butter have a soothing lavender scent, but it also is not heavy on the skin. Shea butter can tend to be too thick for me, but this was a perfect blend that went on clean and kept my skin nourished all day, just as it promised.

So ladies, visit www.nature-girl.com and stock up on these products. Although on the expensive side, they are worth every penny.

    CleanWell Hand Sanitizer

    CleanWell

When I’m not reviewing products, I like to visit thrift stores. I always clean my hands after each store, but until CleanWell, I was using stinky, chemical antibacterial hand sanitizers. Now, with CleanWell, I clean my hands and rid them of harmful germs. With one quick spray from the pump, I am all set. CleanWell is made from Ingenium, a unique formula of plant oils proven to kill 99.99% of germs that can make you sick.

CleanWell is all natural and alcohol-free. The ingredients are safe for kids, non-toxic and come from sustainable, renewable resources. The scent is pleasant and not too strong. Without alcohol in CleanWell, my hands were left soft and not dry and grainy.

I keep the little 1 oz. bottle in my car, but CleanWell also has pocket sized wipes and larger bottles.

I would highly recommend this product to all types of people. It is much safer for you and your family, as well as not full of chemicals. Ingenium contains thyme and other plant oils. Give it a try; you’ll definitely appreciate how your hands feel after a spray.

Check out CleanWell’s site where you can read more about Ingenium, see their other products, shop or locate a store nearby or stop by Target or Whole Foods and purchase CleanWell today!

    skinnyskinny Lavender & Eucalyptus soap

skinnyskinny soaps brooklyn ny nyc organic soap

Brooklyn based skinnyskinny is a handcrafted, eco-friendly soap company that is making a big hit with their organic, all natural soaps, eco-friendly packaging and commitment to the green world.

With no real prior experience working with soap, Clara Williams, the founder, began creating soap for herself until she realized she could release her unique creations to the world. The handcrafted soaps contain at least 96% organic ingredients and are made by hand with no artificial dyes in their Brooklyn factory. Skinnyskinny uses fair trade wages and labor and tries to purchase supplies from like-minded vendors. They purchase wind-power to cover the costs of the warehouses electricity and biodegradable and simple, eco-friendly packaging in an effort to reduce, reuse and recycle their products.

Skinnyskinny has green values and it is evident from their packaging to their products. The soaps come in all flavors and varieties from bar soap, bath salt, body oils to gift boxes and more.

Lavender & Eucalyptus is the soap I sampled. The eucalyptus is known to clear your breathing passages and uplift your senses with its exotic fragrance. Lavender is good for calming and balancing your senses and reducing stress to boot. There is some shea butter that leaves your skin feeling smooth. The soap is 97% organic and well worth trying out.

Check out skinnyskinny soaps on the web where you can find more information, retailers or to purchase products online. Check back for more reviews to follow.
