Dave’s Gourmet Adjustable Hot Sauce

Anyone that knows me, knows that I love to cook. They also know that when I cook, I like to make spicy food. Spicy as in heat, and spicy as in robust flavors. Thai, Cajun, Mexican, whatever. If it’s hot, I’m probably going to like it.

However, not everyone shares my love of heat, and I sometimes forget this when I’m cooking. Enter Dave’s Gourmet Adjustable Heat Hot Sauce

“Wait Bob, what did you just say? Adjustable Heat Hot Sauce? Unpossible.”
Quite possible I say, and probably the greatest food invention I’ve seen in recent memory.

When you look at the bottle, You’ll see two distinct features. The first is 7 squares showing the range of spice from Warm to Hot to Really Hot. The second is that the bottle is split into two separate chambers. I’ll assume one holds a vinegar base, while the other holds the spices.

When you remove the top, you’ll see that the hot sauce is dispensed by a push button spray nozzle. Hold the bottle and firmly hit the button, and you’ll get a nice spray. Use slow and steady pressure, and you’ll get a fine stream, perfect for using with measuring spoons.

The fact that the hot sauce is adjustable is an amazing concept, but the taste of this sauce is amazing as well. The lowest setting, Warm, is a nice taste, just enough spice to let you know it’s there, without an overpowering taste. The Hot setting is nice. Hot buffalo wing strength. Hotter is in the neighborhood of a good sriracha sauce, and Really Hot is what I expect the surface of the sun to taste like.

I can’t recommend this sauce enough. It’ll allow you to adjust the spice for different palates in the same dish, and it offers you a wide range of heat in one single product. Check out their website, order this, and maybe order a Presidential Candidate Hot Sauce. It’s a fun idea, but more importantly, all profits from the sales of these sauces will be donated to charities involving cancer research. I just ordered a bottle of…

And if that’s not enough, come follow me around the greater New Jersey Minor League Baseball stadiums this summer.

Respect Your Mother

This is the last review for the All Female Week. What do you think?

There is only one Mother Earth and Local Celebrity wants us to respect it. I love my mother, the Earth and cute hoodies, so what could go wrong with this combination? This soft, organic cotton with water-based inks is a keeper. It’s really comfortable, runs true to size and does not shrink (I tried). The mellow green color is nice and the black ink has a distressed, vintage look to it, which stands out on the green cotton. The Earth is not too big on the chest and the back logo is nicely sized as well.

Local Celebrity produces attention grabbing clothing that are bound to have people asking about them and the Respect Your Mother line fits that commonality that they are going for.

Celebrities and hipsters love their clothing and I think this hoodie is just too cute. You can buy Local Celebrity clothing online and select retailers.

My mom really likes it too and so should you.

Pentel Recycology

Being a teacher and a student I am always willing to try any new school supplies. I have been using both the Pentel retractable Gel pens and highlighters. Both items come in a variety of colors. I find both useful and handy, especially since they retract. I don’t have to worry about them leaking ink or drying up.

They are made of recycled plastic materials and less of it than the standard pens. Many of the products actually are refillable, such as the highlighters and markers.

Mike really likes the liquid gel ink and he’ll be reviewing that soon, but in the meantime, check out Pentel’s new line called Recycology.

Ethletic Sneakers for Women

The Ethletic Sneakers are made from fair trade and sustainable materials such as sustainable harvested rubber. They are converse-looking low tops that are cute enough for me to try. I wore them for an entire day of shopping. After a few hours I felt the lack of arch getting to me. I toughed it out and did not resort to changing into my spare pair. I have since only worn these for an hour or two. I think that these flat shoes would be much more comfortable with arch insoles and will definitely give them another chance. They are cute, and green—who could ask for much more?
