Zico Mango Coconut Water

Zico Coconut Water

Zico Mango Coconut Water is not bad. The mango is subtle, which I don’t think is a negative. The coconut water’s refreshing flavor combines rather well with the minimal amount of mango juice.

This is by far the most refreshing coconut water beverage that I have ever tasted.

Come back soon, because Zico has some exciting stuff coming up.

Crayon’s Wild Watermelon & Berries Fruit Drink

Yup, Crayon’s that taste like watermelon and berries. The sweet watermelon offsets the bitterness from the grapes, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries. I wish it contained more juice and less sugar however.

    Roxy Rolles Amber Ale

    Roxy Rolles

Mmmm, that’s hoppy! My initial reaction to Magic Hat’s Seasonal Amber Ale called Roxy Rolles. This amber has enough hops in it to get the taste buds going and finishes smoothly leaving you eager for another sip.

    Roxy Rolles

This beer is a body warmer with its rich amber color, citrus and honey flavors and a bit of malts too.

    Roxy Rolles

Part of Magic Hat’s Seasonal releases, Roxy Rolles is worth trying out. Magic Hat is not organic, however, their environmental practices are definitely outstanding.

We believe that being as environmentally friendly as we can be is good business practice. Our spent grain is picked up by a local farmer who feeds it to his cows, instead of just throwing it away. We cool our hot wort (before fermentation) through a heat exchanger- it’s basically two tubes running next to each other, one tube has hot wort in it and one tube has cold water. The wort cools down, the cold water heats up, and we use that hot water in making mash (instead of heating water separately, we’re using heat that’s already there). We also treat our wastewater and are go through several steps to decrease our production of waste water.

Late July Hand Dipped Organic Cookies

    Late July

My previously positive experiences I had with Late July made me beyond excited to try their new limited edition, hand dipped cookies.

This time, for the holidays, Late July not only left me happy, but they left me craving more and more of this sweet, chocolate and mint delight.

    Late July

The vanilla bean & green tea cookies are even better when dipped in organic chocolate and topped with crumbled peppermint bark or white chocolate.

Seriously, this was an amazing dessert and a nice start to a great weekend. They can be ordered online only.

    Another Wild Garden Review

Few things make me happier than laying around my house on a Sunday while watching football and eating snack foods. My wife does not love football, but bless her heart she will not hesitate to make snacks for me to eat. One of her favorite things to make as a football snack has to be hummus paired with some cut up pita bread.

This past Sunday was different though, small substitution, we went with the Wild Garden™ Sun Dried Tomato Hummus Dip. We complemented it with the Wild Garden™ Roasted Garlic Baked Pita Chips. I’ve had pita chips before, and I usually find it’s a bag of broken pieces of baked full size pitas, most of the pieces too small to really get any kind of hummus or other fun dips on. So I was happy to find when I opened the bag of mini sized full pitas, not broken little pieces. They were crunchy, not too salty, and had the right amount of garlic taste as not to over power any dips or toppings you would choose to pair them with. Now thoroughly psyched, I moved onto the hummus.

Wild Garden™ Hummus and Pita Chips

Hummus is a tough one; the texture needs to be right. I’ve had some watery hummus from the store, and it really does not make my day. The texture of this was good, along with great taste with a little bite to it. The combination was quite tasty, leading me to eat it all up until I was so full I couldn’t enjoy a lot of the other snacks that day.

This is an all natural, vegetarian treat I would recommend for all occasions, especially as a football snack on Sunday…

    Izze’s Sparkling Apple Beverage

    Izze

Apples and other fruit juices with filtered sparkling water make this beverage. It’s decent, but not something I’d go out of my way to buy.

I do like Izze’s other products, but this one seemed to kill my passion for apple juice.

    AeroGarden

    Pros: Fresh (free) Herbs

    Cons:
The light is on most of the day; 16 hours.
The herbs grow too fast to consume that quickly.
The dill did not grow at all.
    Uses electricity.
    Herbs are decent. Nothing spectacular.

    AeroGarden

Overall, if you use fresh herbs every single day, the AeroGarden is worth having. I don’t use basil, dill, cilantro, mint, etc every single day, so it’s very difficult to keep up with the herbs when they finally start to grow. The AeroGarden requires constant light and water. The water, after the herbs are fully-grown, is drained rather quickly.

AeroGarden offers other vegetables, plants and herbs, besides the collection I’ve been testing. These herbs seem to die soon after you cut them off the plant, though the plant continues to grow so rapidly.

    Dead Chives - AeroGarden

My last set of nutrition tablets also known as plant food will be used soon and then we’ll see how the plants hold up.

    AeroGarden

Stay tuned and in the meantime, check out the growth of the garden.
