Newman’s Own Organics Raisins

Newman's Own Organics Raisins

What’s unique about these raisins? Besides being organic (pesticide free), not much. I don’t usually agree with those who claim they can taste the difference between organic and non-organic foods, but with these raisins I think I can. They taste fresher and juicier than your average raisin.

Pick up a box and let me know if you agree. You’ll even get a little protein kick from each pack, which is a definite plus for us vegetarians.

Garden Fresh Gourmet Guacamole

Garden Fresh Gourmet Guacamole

There are so many recipes for guacamole, each one being unique in its own way. From preparation to quality of ingredients, Garden Fresh Gourmet knows how to make a fresh and great guacamole.

Garden Fresh uses fresh avocados, onions, garlic, tomatoes and mild spices from jalapenos. The guacamole will only last a few days until it goes bad, so you better eat quickly.

Each container is made with the same love and care that their first batch of salsa did years ago. Garden Fresh started out in a restaurant before deciding to produce their local salsa for mass consumption.

Can’t wait to try the salsa! In the meantime, visit GardenFreshGourmet.com for more information and check back here soon.

Zico Passion Fruit & Orange Peel Coconut Water

Zico Coconut Water

As I’ve stated many times before, I am not a fan of coconut, but coconut water is different. It doesn’t really taste like coconut to me. Zico, from New Jersey, makes three kinds of water. Natural Coconut, Mango and the one I am reviewing today, Passion Fruit and Orange Peel.

With nothing but all natural passion fruit and orange added, this coconut water is really good.

With 60 calories, no fat, 15 carbs and a TON of potassium, Zico is meant to be a great sports drink.

I just drank it for breakfast, and it gave me the boost of all natural energy that my body wanted.

Come back soon for more Zico reviews and in the meantime, check out Zico.com

Happy Thanksgiving / Tofurky Review

For many people Thanksgiving is about turkey and fixings.

If you want to try Tofurky, I’ve posted many reviews in the past. They can be found by clicking the links below or continue to read this for my newest review.

Stay tuned in the future for more reviews to follow including organic soaps, teas, beer and frozen entrees.

Feel free to forward this email out to your friends and family. I’m sure they’d like it.

Thank You,
Mike & the entire Leafygreen.info staff.

Now, the Review…

Sunday night, more than a dozen of our friends gathered for our Annual Potluck Thanksgiving Dinner. We ate green beans, mashed potatoes, cranberries, lasagna, salad, organic mac-n-cheese and two tofurkeys.

Everyone’s dishes were great, handmade with love, making them even better. The Tofurky roast takes a long time to cook, usually much longer than the recipe calls for. Not everyone enjoys the starchy consistency of the Tofurky roast, but I like it. It’s very woodsy especially when you cover it with the mushroom gravy.

If you are a vegetarian/vegan and want to feel part of the turkey eating crowd, this will do it for you, but there are other options. We decided this year is the last year for the roast. It’s not that to Tofurky is not good, but it’s not great either. It’s basically just a protein substitute. I don’t want you to think that I don’t like Tofurky products, but I can live without Tofurky on Thanksgiving.

If you are new to vegetarianism/veganism, go for it. Try the Tofurky roast, you may just like it.

db clay Version 3 Wallets

These artisans really know how to be environmentally conscious, hip, and creative all at the same time. I recently traded in my vegan wallet filled with tons of discount cards and old receipts in for a db clay Version 3 wallet made from Tope. Tope is a custom and eco friendly textile. Engineered by db clay, Tope is sleek material made of synthetic fibers similar to vinyl, yet Tope contains no PVC. Tope is made from non-toxic raw materials, containing no dioxin, heavy metal or phthalate pollution. Tope is actually biodegradable and vegan with eco friendly inks to print the elegant and beautiful designs.

db clay’s Version 3 wallets are sleek on the outside and rugged on the inside. There are 4 pockets on the face of the inside with two underneath for extra room. I’ve recently slimmed down my wallet to the essentials in an effort to be less cluttered. After almost a month of using the wallet day in and day out, there is no sign of wear and tear. No stretched out edges, no discoloring, nothing falling apart. Their website is as sleek and user friendly as their wallets.

db clay

What started out as Duct Tape wallet company from Portland, has recently transformed into a artisan indie wallet company. Hipsters both young and old would love these wallets. The prints are cool too. The dark bark, which I am currently using is like taking a picture from inside a tree.

Vegan wallets are getting easier to find, but most are cloth or vinyl. This eco-friendly alternative is worth looking into.

Check out dbclay.com for more information, including more details on Tope, the old ductbill wallets and the online store/product gallery. It gets my approval.

Keep it up db clay! Can’t wait to see what comes next!
