Amy’s Indian Spinach Tofu Wrap

Indian Spinach Tofu Wrap
Two of my favorite foods wrapped up in healthy goodness. Spinach and Tofu cooked Indian style with onions, soybeans, garlic, jalapeno, turmeric and Amy’s blend of secret vegan spices. This frozen wrap is perfect for a quick lunch. It’s got 11 grams of protein, fiber, Vitamin A, lots of iron, and a fair amount of good fat.

The organic spinach/tofu mixture heats up thoroughly, leaving no random cold parts. The wrap is perfect for lunch, a snack, dinner and even breakfast. Then again, I LOVE spinach.

Amy’s products never cease to disappoint me and I’d encourage you to try them out.

Amy’s website is full of information and if you are new to the healthy, vegetarian/vegan, organic lifestyle, check out their easy to follow legend.

Sling & Stones Organic Denim Review

sling and stones

You can purchase jeans anywhere, but there is a big difference between jeans that are made for the general public and denim made for socially conscious consumers.

Sling & Stones is a small company with the mission of creating handmade organic denim products while using local materials when possible, paying fair trade wages, and giving back to the community at large.

Here’s what goes into the Sling & Stones products. First, the Supima fiber (grown locally in America) is spun into yarn using a small family-run Japanese mill. The twill lining is produced of organic cotton grown in Peru, where the Peruvians make fair wages and are happy to farm cotton rather than being forced to farm cocaine as they were in the past. The twill and denim are embellished by 24k gold plated hardware and thread from India.

The cut of my jeans is called David. The denim is S&S Staple Japanese Organic Supima Selvage. The finish is Synthetic Dyed Indigo. In plain English, the jeans are a straight fit, dark indigo.

This is my first pair of selvage denim jeans. After reading about selvage, I found out that they are meant to be very stiff, but breaks in well. The denim is very comfortable and sturdy. The straight fit is nice and slimming, and there is a low rise and button fly. The buttons are probably my favorite part. Besides being 24k plated gold, they are also square. They do take a few tries to get used to, and after a few uses, the button holes loosened up a bit. One thing that doesn’t work too well for me is the inseam. There isn’t any room to pull the jeans up any higher. Everybody has a different shape in their torso, and I think I have a longer one than most. Aside from the inseam, the jeans are great and they definitely receive compliments from friends and strangers alike.

Sling & Stones is not just another high end organic company, they are artists and innovators. They are giving back so much to the community both foreign and domestic. Their art truly shines through in these jeans. I love them and I’m happy to wear them.

I’d suggest checking out slingandstones.com where you can find all sorts of information such as to what others are saying, store locator (Stockist), the men’s and women’s collection and more.

Hopefully there will be more reviews in the future, so keep checking back.

A Leafygreen.info lunch review

Wrap-N-Mat Sandwich

Sometimes, it is hard to review a single product at time and we just have to combine many products. Today’s one of those days. For lunch, I brought a sandwich to work. Sound generic, but in fact, it is not. The sandwich was transported in an eco-friendly, washable wrap called Wrap-N-Mat. Unlike those plastic Tupperware containers, the Wrap-N-Mat is enviro-friendly and ideal for housing a sandwich of normal to slightly larger bread sizes. We’ll get to the sandwich further down below.

The Wrap-N-Mat’s unique design is very versatile. One side is lined with PEVA or PVC. PEVA is more environmentally friendly than PVC, however, either one is food safe. The Kelly Green PEVA Wrap-N-Mat is shaped like an octagon making it very easy to wrap the sandwich. It features a bright logo next to the velcro tab for sealing the mat.

As you can see above, wrapping the sandwich is very easy. No more need for those sandwich bags that get tossed away post-lunch or trying to make more room in your lunch bag because your plastic container’s too large. The Wrap-N-Mat really works well too. I tested it out with the following sandwich and there was no leaking or mess.

The sandwich consisted of a toasted whole wheat roll, a few slices of the Roasted Tofurky, a few slices of soy cheese, a couple of jalapenos and Bone Suckin’ Mustard. The Roasted Tofurky was very similar to other Tofurkey flavors. The jalapenos really went well with the Bone Suckin’ Mustard. The reason is because Ford’s Gourmet Foods Bone Suckin’ Mustard is sweet and hot. Its all natural flavors include brown sugar, molasses, paprika, jalapenos and of course mustard.

The sandwich was great and I used my Wrap-N-Mat as my plate. It’s very easy to wash, just soap and water.

Finally, just because I wanted to, I ate Newman’s Own Organics Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups. They totally made my lunch complete!

Save money and the environment, consider purchasing a Wrap-N-Mat, especially the PEVA lined ones. Check out wrap-n-mat.comWrap-N-Mat SandwichWrap-N-Mat SandwichWrap-N-Mat SandwichWrap-N-Mat SandwichWrap-N-Mat Sandwich
