    Wild Garden Hummus

Wild Garden makes all natural, preservative and trans fat free hummus and the baked pita chips to match. I’ve been bringing the hummus to work in the last few weeks and I have to say, I’m really liking it. The hummus is smooth, creamy and not full of oil and spice. Wild Garden does offer flavored hummus, however, I’ve only tried the plain so far. The Wild Garden™ Pita Chips (plain) remind me of healthy Ritz Crackers. They are not salty, crispy and fresh tasting. Wild Garden sells their hummus in A&P Supermarkets as well as online and more.

At the A&P the Wild Garden products are NOT located near the other hummus brands. They are located near the chips and snacks, so keep your eyes and nose open. Try them out, they are small company with a great product. Stay tuned for more reviews of some of the other flavor hummuses and pita chips. Click here to check out the Wild Garden Community online.

    ** UPDATE **

    Tyler Warren Toe Foo

Simple Shoes is known for their commitment to the environment, their charities and making a sustainable shoe that is comfortable and durable. Green Toe line is no exception. Green Toe is the green line of shoes and more that is constructed of sustainable goods such as bamboo, organic cotton, recycled car tires, crepe, jute, cork, PET and held together with water based glue.

Tyler Warren, a surfer and artist from Dana Point, CA. designed his own Toe Foo flip flop. I’ve been wearing this shoe for the last few days including all day Saturday. The first thing I liked is the design. From the website, you get a profile view at the shoe, but that does not do the shoe justice. The design is so complex and full of Earthy, recycling, green drawings with leaves and intricate patterns mixed in. The natural color is more of and off white or eggshell. These flip flops are very comfortable, there’s an arch, and reinforced bottom soles. The fabric is not abrasive on your toes. I really enjoy the soft, cushiony feeling that the soles have. Toe Foo’s are sturdy, but light and not bulky. Perfect for walking to the local grocery store or walking to your friend’s house.

The shoe was shipped in hardly any packaging which reduces waste in the world. So, check out Simpleshoes.com and get your green shoes, Hippie! I did

    Iceland Spring Water

High in the mountains of Heidmork, Iceland is where the Iceland Spring Water originates. It is filtered while traveling down the mountain through the lava rock and it ends up in the natural spring near the outskirts of Reykjavik in a protected nature reserve. The water is clean, clear and definitely refreshing. It is all natural and contains no nitrates, no sodium and pure. No water treatment is actually necessary. I am certainly enjoying drinking the Iceland Spring water. I’d suggest picking up a bottle if you see it around.

You can find it at the following locations. Whole Foods, Vitamin Shoppe, Vitamin World, Walgreens (as Iceland PURE), Cost Plus, Shaw’s, Central Markets, Giant. Also, mybrandsinc.com is an online vendor of the product as well.

    Zia Natural Skincare Review

In the twenty plus years Zia Natural Skincare has been around, they’ve developed into a company known for it’s natural products. Products that do not have chemicals, but rather premium natural ingredients. Each of their products contain a blend of vitamins, antioxidants and nutrients that work together and result in a eco-friendly and cruelty-free product.

I sampled the Men’s HydraShield Shave Cream. First thing I noticed is the minimal packaging. I love the sans-serif typeface and the bright orange/black/white color scheme. After cracking the bottle open, I decided it was time to shave. The fragrance-free shave cream helps prevent razor burn according to the packaging. Fragrance-free in other words means, no extra fragrances are actually added into the mix. The cream itself has a unique smell to it. The fragrance reminded me of a stale lake. That sounds strange, and it is, but the fragrance does not last and dissipates into the air soon after applying it to your face. That must be the combination of aloe, grape seed oil and algae which helps cut down on razor burn.

I really like the cream. It’s not foamy or heavy, it’s smooth and it does leave your body really smooth. Almost $10 a bottle is high, but you are not covering your face with chemicals and that is a big plus for me.

You can pick up Zia Natural Skincare products at Whole Foods and The Vitamin Shoppe.

Newman’s Own Organic Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups

These are the best peanut butter chocolate cups I’ve ever had. They are so much better than those one’s that come wrapped in orange. I’m a chocolate & peanut butter fan to the core, but there’s something underwhelming about these. Yes, underwhelming. They are very plain but so rich and creamy. Three cups to a package equals 170 calories of goodness.

    New Leaf Tea Review #2

I sampled a few more of the New Leaf Iced Teas. I had the Green Tea with ginseng and the White Tea with tangerine. The Green was good, not too sugary, but enough for you to taste the sweetness. The ginseng gave me the after lunch energy that I needed. The White tea is amazing. The tangerine is such a refreshing white tea. It hits the spot. The light refreshing white tea combined with the semi-citrusy tangerine results in a perfect harmony of fruit and tea.

    Munchmobile

Hey New Jersey, I’m going to be part of the 10th annual Munchmobile! Thanks for Bob for pointing it out to me, this year I’m going to chow down on Vegetarian Delights from all over our amazing state!

If you’re not familiar with the Munchmobile, it’s part of the Star Ledger Newspaper. It’s a van with a hot dog on it that drives around NJ going to restaurants every week to sample a certain type of food. Last year, Bob ate crab cakes, for instance. Then Peter Genovese writes an article which gets published in the Ledger as well as nj.com/munchmobile.

    It’s going to be Fantastic!
